auratic was founded in 2002 by Jens Ficht, a master carpenter who completed his education in Baden-Württemberg before relocating to Berlin. auratic specializes in providing expert craftsmanship services for trade fairs, exhibitions and events, film and television productions, retail stores, and interiors.

The name “auratic” derives from Walter Benjamin’s term “aura”, a central concept in aesthetic theory. Benjamin defines the aura of an object as the “unique phenomenon of a distance, however close it may be.” An object’s aura is a function of its presence in time and space; it is a mark of its unique existence and authenticity and cannot be mechanically reproduced. auratic shapes spaces that are meant to be experienced, to be lived.
